With the DBZ Uncut airing on Mondays through Thursdays, I expected a nice nostalgia blast since it was a redubbing of the first seasons of that series, basically leaving in most of the blood and gore they snipped out the first time, the important storyline bits that were also cut, and also the general cute and amusing stuff that also met the cutting board the first time around. Now it's all left in, but the voices have changed. I'm sure we all remember the painful experience it was, getting adjusted to a new cast in the middle of the Freeza saga, and even after all this time of getting used to them, I still prefer the original Ocean cast. So it's been a bit of good and bad, but at least the regular cast of today have long since gotten comfortable in their roles and are a lot more bearable now than they were when starting out.

The thing with DBZ is that I got into the Saiyan and Freeza sagas, but after that, it just bored me to tears. I thought the Androids were cool, but I was neutral to Trunks and Cell bugged the ever-living piss out of me. Then Gohan grew up and I STILL haven't gotten used to that, and I don't think there's a word outside of "argh" that I can use for GT. XD And after the Freeza saga, a lot of characters got thrown into the permanent background and rarely spoke again, and after greatly narrowing down Krillin's role (since he's my favorite character), I just didn't see the point anymore.

But now that they're rerunning the episodes I actually LIKED, with some new bits of goodness that I didn't see before, it's fun again. For the time being. :D Where they are right now, actually... I've got VHSes of the old dub (it's the very first Goku vs Vegeta battle), and I've watched that sucker so many times over that it's actually a bit of a mindfuck watching the redub, because even though the censors are off and the voices are different, many parts of the dialogue have remained unchanged, which just messes with me inwardly because I can start perfectly imagining the previous, superior voices flashing before my very eyes... and then I start feeling VERY old~.

Anyway, seeing the cuteness that is Gohan before he got steroided out at age 9 and then grew up made me feel warm inside. So I felt like drawing him. And then I felt like drawing ChiChi, because she amuses me. XD And since Dragonball is a series about GENERATIONS, I liked comparing kids to their parents and seeing which parent won out in the traits department. I always liked Gohan's ChiChiesque bowl cut hair the best, anyway. He only wears it that way for the Freeza saga and I *think* the very short Garlic Jr. saga, and then he gets back into the awkward mullet and then finally rooster hair, which he keeps for the rest of the series, all the way up through GT. Rooster hair is nice, but so unbefitting of Gohan. ^^; I dunno why I find bowl cuts so cute; my little cousin had one for the longest time, and then he fucking shaved it all off... and now he's a jock and a jerk and I hate him. XD God, growing up just makes some people outright suck.

Anyway, when I actually bothered to pay attention to the GT series, I noticed that Pan, while she has Videl's eyes, looks so overwhelmingly like Gohan and ChiChi did in their youth. XD I guess I find it a funny coincedence since everyone pretty much talks about Goku's kids like they're totally a chip off the block, which in Gohan's case, is completely incorrect. ChiChi, in all her powerful and scary dominance, has her own block that chips off! Goten's much more of a Goku clone, especially when he's a little kid. So, I did a funny little picture with all of them having the similar hair. Of course, having Pan there is a time paradox in itself, but Gohan was way into Rooster Hair Period by the time Pan was born, and ChiChi had retired her nifty hairdo to look older over ten years before Pan came into the world. A paradox is necessary to get my point across! :D (I should've just put DB!ChiChi in there to run it right into the ground...)

Anyway, yeah, it's not a strong musing to found a picture on, but I never do DBZ fanart, so I figured whaaat the hey. I doubt I'll be doing any again anytime soon. X3
